Our non-NHS Services

Fees for Non‑NHS (Private) Work

(Reviewed June 2026)

NHS services are always prioritised.
Non‑NHS (private) work may take longer to complete and is subject to GP availability. We aim to process requests as soon as possible, but waiting times may vary.

Non‑NHS work is not covered by the NHS contract and is undertaken at the discretion of the GP. Fees reflect the time required for GP review, professional responsibility, and administrative handling. Payment is required before work is undertaken unless otherwise agreed.

Many patients can access the information they need free of charge via the NHS App, including their medical record, problem list and current medications, and may wish to consider whether this would meet their needs instead of requesting a letter.

Subject Access Requests under UK GDPR are provided free of charge and are not listed here.

Once you have identified the relevant fee below, if you wish to proceed please make your request via our Digital Front Door.

Services We Do Not Provide

To help manage expectations and ensure requests are handled through the correct and most effective processes, we have set out below services that the Practice is unable to provide.

Where medical evidence is required, external organisations have established routes for requesting this information directly from the Practice.

  • Passport countersignatures
  • Seatbelt exemption certificates
  • Letters of support for:
    • housing applications, rehousing requests, homelessness assessments, or priority banding
    • welfare benefits, including PIP, ESA, Universal Credit, or other DWP administered benefits
    • schools, colleges, or education‑related appeals where no specific medical form has been requested

Why we do not provide “letters of support”

These organisations have established processes for obtaining medical information. Where medical evidence is required, the relevant body (for example, the Department for Work and Pensions or a Local Authority) will contact the Practice directly using their own forms, which the Practice is contractually obliged to complete where appropriate.

General “letters of support” written at a patient’s request are not part of NHS services and are not an effective or reliable way for external organisations to assess eligibility or need.

The Practice will always respond appropriately to formal, legitimate medical requests received directly from statutory bodies.
