Support for carers

How we can help carers

It is important for you and the person you care for that you tell us about your caring responsibilities.

We can :-

  • support you with any physical health issues related to your caring role, like tiredness
  • make you aware of the carer’s flu vaccination each year
  • talk to you about your mental health and the impact of your caring role
  • provide you with general information and advice
  • refer you to helpful organisations and services that can improve your caring situation
  • give you flexible appointments at times that suit you
  • refer you for a Carer’s Break payment if your caring role is impacting your health, potentially meaning you can take a break.

Digital Resources for unpaid carers

Carers UK and NHS England are working together with primary care to deliver the Digital Resource for Carers, an online platform that hosts a wealth of information and support for carers, directly through GP Practices and health professionals.

The Digital Resource for Carers includes e-learning, guides and comprehensive signposting, access to MyBackUp, a simple contingency planning tool for what might happen in an emergency, and Jointly, Carers UK’s care co-ordination app.

To register for the digital resources, go to www.carersdigital.org and use the Access Code for Cheshire & Merseyside: DPCN9533

Do you feel like you need some support and guidance, or even just a chat?
