Winter illness
Last Updated: Friday, 29 November 2024If you are experiencing a winter illness such as a cold, flu, or respiratory infection, and think that you need to be examined, you may be offered an appointment at one of our Primary Care Network winter hubs which are located at Netherley Health Centre and Hillfoot Health, Hunts Cross.
Please note that appointments at these hubs will be with a healthcare professional who is not your regular GP.
These appointments are being offered to ensure patients can receive timely care at a time of year where we experience very high demand, for illnesses that don't necessarily need the input of your regular doctor.
Our Care Navigators will ask for information about your illness to ensure that this is suitable for you.
Of course, for most coughs, colds and respiratory infections you don't need to see a health professional as these will resolve in time with self-care at home. Below are some links to the Self Care Forum website which has videos and downloadable Fact Sheets about how to help yourself, and details on what to look out for that might need medical attention. Please have a look at these before you contact the health service during its busiest time of year.
