Checking your blood pressure
Last Updated: Saturday, 14 March 2026Keeping track of your blood pressure is an important part of staying well. Regular checks help us spot changes early and make sure you have the right support. Drs Baxter & Widnall talk about blood pressure in their video below:
You can check your blood pressure in several ways - at home, in the community, or here at the practice. Choose the option that works best for you.
1. If You Have (or Can Borrow) a Home Blood Pressure Monitor
Send Us Your Readings Online through our Digital Front Door
- One‑off reading: Submit a single reading here: https://blinx.uk/qNzED
- Several days of readings: Send us readings taken over a few days here: https://blinx.uk/k1fWR
A set of readings taken over a few days often gives a more reliable picture.
Write Your Readings Down
- Download and print our home BP monitoring template [PDF]
- Or collect a paper copy from reception.
2. If You Don’t Have a Machine at Home
Borrow a Monitor From Us
You can borrow a validated blood pressure machine from the practice.
- We ask for a refundable £20 cash deposit.
- Just come to reception during opening hours to request one.
3. Other Ways to Get Your Blood Pressure Checked
Practice Kiosk (No Appointment Needed)
We have an automated self‑check kiosk located on the ground floor corridor by Rooms 6 & 7.
- Available Monday–Friday, 07:30–18:00
- Measures height, weight, pulse, and blood pressure
- You’ll receive a print‑out to hand in at reception
Local Pharmacies
Most local pharmacies now offer:
- One‑off blood pressure checks
- 24‑hour (ambulatory) monitoring, where needed
If you’d like us to refer you for this, let us know here: https://blinx.uk/QZn1B4-
